Went there to see the illuminated gardens. Spectacular building and gardens. Well worth visiting again next year.
I like to attend all the special events held at Helmingham, throughout the year. They are always well organised but have a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The gardens are spectacular and open during the event. Visited are welcome to take picnics to enjoy in a peaceful surroundings, or if weather is inclement there are many varied opportunities to buy food. I'm looking forward to the Christmas event why don't you join me?
The night lit garden was a delight. The cinema screen at the tennis court with bar and coffee. All very delightful. Definitely going next year.
Wonderful Tudor house and award winning gardens. Holds successful musical and plant events. Often great reflections in the moat and the walled garden is generally photogenic. Planting generous and sometimes inspired, changes often. Cafe is good and reasonably priced. 4 stars because the publicly accessible and planted areas are quite small by the standards and the gardens can be tatty round the edges, I've pulled out weeds myself in the past! Not a big issue, absolutely worth a visit.
