I really liked this pub - friendly and didn't have a problem with us sitting in a corner most of the afternoon working on some documents. Good staff.. wonderful beers :)

Great litte pub in the back streets of Stowmaket. Excellent selection of beers, nice atmosphere, very good sports screens. Great landlord and landlady, I live in Cambridge and don't get to visit this pub as much as I would like but when ever I am in Stowmaket this is my number one port of call.
A rare gem of a pub, definitely worth a visit if you want to sample real ale direct from the barrel.Young Paul (Landlord) is doing a fine job, keeping a proper traditional pub as it should be ! One could get hooked on this place . . . !
Great pub, with up to 12 real ales served by gravity, direct from the cask, and in superb condition. CAMRA Urban Pub of the Year for the last five (or is it six?) years, so Paul, the landlord, must be doing something right.There are modern toilets and work is in progress to provide a new Kitchen and to enlarge the single Bar area.Limited food is available, including the usual Bar snacks, plus pies, sandwiches and toasties.There is a small outdoor area, some of which is under cover, with picnic table seating.Has darts and pool teams; the pool table is in an outbuilding.
