Reopened in October 2016. Lovely people who work here, friendly and really can't do enough for you. The menu is good value with really good portions. Visited on a Saturday lunchtime in January 2017.

Nice local bistro, delicious food cooked to order and a good selection of wine. Friendly and attentive owners. Definitely recommend!

A few Christmas's ago I went for a work do. The food was good and well made but the price for alcohol was very expensive.

Always made to feel very welcome at Winchester's. A sensible varied simple menu - with a lot of appeal. Wendy's excellent food, cooked to order - certainly worth the wait - which you fill with wine based conversation with Alan while selecting your preference. Their really jammy Shiraz (The Black Craft) goes wonderfully with the venison or the beef. After, Wendy temps you with a great home made 'proper' pudding usually with a good helping of ice-cream. Then coffee, Cognac good conversation with the local happy diners and the Winchesters alike - what is not to like!Robert - Reading

Absolutely top service, quality food and and such a friendly welcoming atmosphere really lovely couple running a nice high standard business.
